The Administrator of Vehicle Standards (the Administrator) approves the affixing, by the Licensee named and described in Schedule 1 (the Licensee) to a vehicle of the kind described in Schedule 2 which conforms to the design as specified in the evidence items listed in Schedule 4 (the specified vehicle) which the Licensee has certified complies with the Australian Design Rules specified in Schedule 4, of an Identification Plate of the colour specified in Schedule 3, that conforms with the Administrator’s circular 0-3-2, and which contains the information shown in Schedule 2 (with the typical VIN replaced with the relevant VIN).
In this approval, a reference to an Australian Design Rule is a reference to a rule cited in the National Standard determinations, made under section 7 of the Motor Vehicle Standards Act, together with that rule’s distinguishing number.
The licensee must pay a fee to the Commonwealth, in accordance with Regulation 60 and Items 1 and 2 of Schedule 2 of the Motor Vehicle Standards Regulations, for the placement of an identification plate on each new vehicle supplied to the market in Australia in accordance with the approval. Where a condition exists in Schedule 5 of the approval for the licensee to obtain plates through the Authorised Plate Contractor, this fee is collected as part of that process.
